Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide hands-on technical and analytical leadership and support the Controller within the assigned finance function. The accounting manager will be involved in a broad range of activities including daily accounting, financial reporting, budgets and forecasts, mergers and acquisitions support, and working with operations. This position requires working under general supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.

Major/Key Accountabilities:
Finance and Accounting:
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for company and franchise stores
- Prepare monthly management financial statements
- Interface with Company’s accounting firm to support reviews/audits, tax planning and filings
- Prepare financial portions of offering circulars (stock issuances)
- Prepare investor reporting packages
- Prepare property tax renditions and manage property tax issues
- Research emerging accounting issues and provide recommendations to the Controller
- Research various income / franchise tax options and provide recommendations to the Controller
- Provide daily management of ERP and other reporting systems
- Assist the Controller with upgrades and enhancements of the Company’s financial systems

Budgets & Forecasts:
- Prepare the Company’s detailed budgets and forecasts
- Prepare cash flow forecasts for short and long-term planning
- Analyze operating results in comparison to budget and forecast

Mergers and Acquisitions:
- Assist the Controller with due diligence of prospective hospital acquisitions
- Support integration of acquisitions, including implementing financial processes

Operations:
- Work with operations to assess internal controls within hospitals and assess compliance
- Provide finance and accounting assistance to the broader business as required

Required Qualifications:
- Effective time management and multi-tasking skills

- Ability to quickly learn new technologies

Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficient in US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Previous experience managing remote teams
- Previous experience as a member of a systems implementation project
- Reporting software and expertise in writing queries
- Previous experience with open source ERP systems

Education / Experience:
- Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
- 7-10 years of broad accounting experience, including public accounting (big four)
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Willingness and ability to handle all aspects of accounting, including preparation/review of account reconciliations
- Ability to handle routine changes in reporting requirements/structure and meet tight deadlines
- Working knowledge and strong appreciation of internal control systems
