Controller - Near Austin

The Company is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Controller. This person will report directly to the owners of the company and will oversee the company’s financial/accounting activities. The Company focuses on heavy equipment leasing and sales and is located near Austin, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for month-end financial statement close process including revenue accounting, booking of journal entries, preparation of accruals, inventory management and reconciliation of accounts

- Oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting function including A/R, A/P, payroll, government compliance, day-to-day general accounting, cost and inventory accounting including but not limited to:
-- Equipment rental agreements
-- Equipment sales
-- Collections
-- Inventory management, including parts inventory
-- Purchasing

- Coordinate the overall planning and budgeting process of the company with an emphasis on trend analysis, data collection, integrating sound assumptions and identifying opportunities

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

- Manage compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including the coordination of the company’s CPA firm

- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required – CPE strongly preferred
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervision of staff
- Experience in a heavy equipment rental / dealer environment preferred
- Exceptional analytical abilities and understanding of accounting issues in a heavy equipment rental / dealer environment
- Strong comprehension of the principles and practices of accounting and finance in accordance with GAAP
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (modeling) and accounting software (currently Quickbooks)
- Initiative and desire to work hard in an entrepreneurial growth environment
- Proactive, inquisitive, self -motivated and results focused with strong organizational skills
