Sr. Corporate Tax Accountant - San Antonio

Responsibilities:
The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant provides tax compliance support within the Accounting and Administration department and fixed asset compliance support within the Equipment Accounting department. The main focus of the Senior Corporate Tax Accountant will be to provide timely and quality tax support services to the Enterprise. In addition, the Senior Corporate tax accountant will review and monitor fixed asset accounting for the Enterprise.

The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant’s main responsibilities are preparing and filing the federal and state income tax returns, payroll tax returns, and assisting with the annual tax provision for the external auditors. Along with that, the tax accountant will assist in making quarterly estimated tax payments and filing annual tax extensions. The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant will review and monitor fixed asset accounting completed by the Equipment Accounting department, which includes uploading the asset in FAS, ensuring the proper book and tax life is entered into the system, and proper depreciation is being generated. The tax accountant should have a general understanding of corporate income taxation, experience preparing and filing corporate income tax returns, and general knowledge of book and tax depreciation.

Job Function:
- Preparing and filing federal income tax returns – including Form 1120 and 1065
- Preparing and filing state income tax returns
- Making quarterly tax payments – at Federal and State Level
- Filing annual state tax extensions
- Assisting with state and federal IRS audits
- Assisting with the tax preparation of the annual tax provision
- Various other income-tax related projects, including tax regulation research
- Review and Monitor Fixed Asset activity within Fixed Asset System
- Monitor Depreciation Expense for book and tax purposes

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Over 3 years to 5 years’ experience in Accounting
- Experience preparing federal and state income tax returns

Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA
