Midyear Board of Directors Meeting Summary

• Ideas for involving young professionals were shared by Dan Griffiths, Director of Strategic Planning, TANNER.
Engaging the Next Generation of Professionals

• Strategic Planning Committee chair Michael Brown, CPA-Central Texas reported on the document that serves as a blueprint for TSCPA.

• The results of the Society’s electronic elections were announced and the appointments made by Chairman-elect Kathy Kapka, CPA-East Texas, were ratified by a vote of the Board members.
2016-17 Elected and Appointed Leaders

Fred Timmons, CPA-San Antonio led the annual meeting of the Accounting Education Foundation and trustees were elected. Information was reported about scholarships awarded and an update on the Million Dollar Plus Campaign.

• CPA-PAC report and awards to chapters were presented by committee chair Brad Brown, CPA-Southeast Texas.
CPA-PAC Awards

• An invitation was issued for the 2016 Annual Meeting of Members July 1-2 in Galveston. The event will cap a year of celebrating the Society’s 100th anniversary. Those planning to attend are encouraged to make hotel reservations soon.
