Bill Review
Thanks to the Internet, TSCPA members can play an important interactive role in the legislative process. Reading and analyzing pending legislation via the web and submitting comments on how a particular piece of legislation might affect the Texas economy is one of the ways CPAs can get politically involved. Bill readers provide a service to business and industry by offering a CPA's perspective on the financial impact of proposed legislation.
TSCPA maintains a relationship with the Texas Legislative Service (TLS), whereby our volunteer bill reviewers may access all legislative information online. Bills to be analyzed are identified by a thorough, automated key word search of a bill's text, using terms commonly associated with CPA and accounting issues.
